FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA The members of the Future Business Leaders of America strive to improve the community, to have a greater fellowship in the home and in society, and to become better business leaders of tomorrow. This year we assisted a local organization in selling cake-mix for the benefit of underpriviledged people, and we toured the IBM Department of Appalach¬ ian Power Company to learn more about business machines. We are proud of our members who took part in the various contests at the Radford Re¬ gional Meeting this year. We tied for first place in the spelling contest and won first place in the Parliamentary Procedure contest. Janet Gardella was elected President of the Radford Region for 1960-1961. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA The objectives of the Future Teachers of America are to create and to further an under¬ standing of the problems and opportunities of teaching. Members observe classes in the Annex during free periods, or visit elementary schools in this area. In emergencies, members are asked to serve as teachers. Our activities include giving a yearly picnic, entering a float in the homecoming parade, participating in the District P Convention, and attending a tea for the recruitment of teachers. Callie Reid, a member of the F.T.A., observes Moss Webber ' s re¬ medial reading class.
