Pep Club members are dedicated to improving school spirit and sports¬ manship among the students; we support all athletic activities at Andrew Lewis. Our most important project is the sponsoring of the homecoming pa¬ rade. We are also responsible for the decoration of the goal posts be¬ fore each home game. To be eligible to become a cheerleader, one must be a member of the Pep Club. Venona Musser assists Billy Combs in decorating the goal posts before one of our football games. 110

NEWSPAPER STAFF We, the Andrew Lewis students, are proud of our news¬ paper, the " A. L. Spokesman. " ,, Our paper is now four years old and recruits its large staff from all high school classes. News from the seventh and eighth grades is accumulated from room representatives. The " Spokes¬ man " is published twelve times a school year, including special Christmas and Senior issues. We feature school news and interesting tidbits to keep the reader well informed. The sports staFf, George Lenaeus, Jerry Neighbors, Joe Bounds, Lois Nutter, John Hall, Sports Editor; Marty Hash, and Tommy King, pose in their domain. Feature Editor Carolyn Galbraith assigns projects to her staff. Clockwise are Sherry Banner, Rosie Lonitz, Hunter Highfill, Betty McCurdy, Albert Taylor, Virginia Harvey, Diane Wickham, Sandra Sayers, Sally Rikard, and Kerry Sipe. Chairman Sha Bradley contacts a prospect as the members of the advertising staff, Kathy Jones, Al Knighton, Karen Bowles, Cynthia Dean, Butch Morris, Ann Minarik, and Myra Boone, look on.
