Homecoming The Homecoming Court, at Municipal Field, being presented at an assembly to the Student body are, Left to Right: Linda Kay Hartman (Queen); Pat Poindexter (Maid of Honor); Donna Ferguson, Barbara Cannon, Becky Howard, Dot Fretz, Nancy Keyes, Shirley Mills, Betty Lou Shannon, Judy Jamison, Gayle Garrison, Carol Rutledge. Our own Pioneer Cadillac is one of the many, many decorated cars in the Homecoming Parade. As Linda Rader, president of the Sports Club, crowns Buddy Perry, Homecoming King, Joyce Cundiff, vice president of the Sports Club, Mark Graybill, president of. the Monogram Club, and the Home¬ coming Court share the honor of the crowning. This prize-winning float was entered by the Latin Club using the idea “Sic Semper Tyrannis” on the Virginia Seal; the club created the float “Thus Always to Halifax”; Halifax was our opposing Homecoming team. The Homecoming Court of 1958 prepares to enter the football field during the halftime activities of the Homecoming Game.

“Silver Bells” is being sung by Phyllis Lancaster as she thinks of the coming holiday. The “All Nice Kids” reminisce about their Senior activities with “Moments to Remember” Tommy Coffman lends a festive air as he plays Christmas music. Susan Grant, a ballet doll, teaches Gail Hamblin, a majorette doll, to dance to the tune of Sleighride. The Senior Class rises and the cast assembles on the stage for the final numbers, our alma mater and “White Christmas”. Assembly Jerry Hodge makes a hit with another popular 1 he 01 farmer, Bruce Wright, is unmoved by song, “Great Balls of Fire.” His accompaniment Donna Ferguson’s pleas to “Love Me To Pieces”, is provided by Perry Caligan, Eddie Johnson and Elroy Fisher.

Assemblies The Christmas Musical Selection of the A Ca- pella Choir ends the day, before vacation, on a sacred note. The Christmas spirit is instilled in the An¬ drew Lewis Student body as the Freshman Girls ' Choir takes part in the Christmas Assembly During the Christmas Assembly Mr. Miller presents the baskets we filled for the “Needy to Dr. Blankenbaker, chairman of the Basket Bureau Beth Poole as Mrs.Mann,Ted Carroll as Sam, Maslin Whitescarver as Mrs. Simms and Owen Napier as Snakes take part in a play “Thanksgiving in Mannsvillc” presented by the drama and choir departments. A Roman Museum comes to life at night as Jupiter hears that “Juno’s in Love”
