Christensen, the Andrew Lewis High School Band has entered in many school activities during the year. As usual, the most important activity was playing for the football games. In the mud, rain, fair weather or foul, the Band would be out at half-time, marching in formation for the fans—Drum Major, Jack Roof, leading with his famous twirling; Head Drum Majorette, Peggy Taliaferro, blowing the whistles; and the other details being left to Drum Ma¬ jorettes, Geneva Duncan and Joan Black. At present, plans are underway for the annual concert and for a parade to be held in the spring.

Its purpose is to do for the school what the Kiwanis Club does for the community; namely, to carry out projects for the improvement and growth of the school, thus bringing the two into closer relationship. The club was not active this year, but definite plans have been made for several projects next year to carry out the aim of the club. The Key Club consists of thirty members—twelve seniors, twelve juniors and six sophomores. Membership is limited to boys only, each of whom must excel in scholarship, be approved by the principal and faculty, and be unanimously accepted by the members of the club. [91 ]
