Some of these boys have returned to complete their high school education while others are taking a post-graduate course. The club was organized by Mr. Bell at the early part of the year and is directed by Mr. Copenhaver. Officers include Alden Scott, President; Ray Wilbourne, Secretary; Zed Long, Treasurer, and George Graybill, Chaplain. We are proud to have the opportunity to return to Andrew Lewis and continue our education. We have enjoyed the special privileges offered to us during the year and we hope we have not failed to take advantage of every opportunity given us. After serving in the armed forces and returning to Andrew Lewis, we found ourselves more deeply interested and absorbed in our studies. We cannot express enough our appreciation to Mr. Bell and the members of the faculty for the kind consideration they have given us. May Andrew Lewis continue to develop students of high standards, as it has in the past. O Q Z ' -=£■— S ' 0- " VO V r_ [ 84 ]

Library Club OFFICERS Jo Ann Huff. Stranna Leslie. Betty Saul. Polly Rierson. SPONSORS .... President Vice President . Secretary . . . . Treasurer Mrs. Bennett. Librarian Miss Wright. Assistant Librarian The Library Club consists of thirty-one girls, fifteen of whom devote their free time to working in the library. The club meets every two weeks and the programs are of a literary nature. The club sponsored Book Week activities during November, 1946. The activities were an as¬ sembly program for the lower grades, a tea for the faculty, and a Book Week contest in the form of a magazine quiz. The Library consists of fifteen girls who act as assistants to the librarian. They work from three to five hours a week. These girls perform all routine duties, e. g., stamping and filing Library passes, carding and shelving books, typing book cards and pockets, cataloging cards, letters, book orders and mending magazines and books. These girls learn library methods by doing and their love for books is fostered by handling them. The students, teachers and librarians are deeply indebted to these girls who serve so willingly and so well.
