Reporters . . . .Faculty Advisor Since the beginning of the session in the fall of 1933, The Andrew Lewis News has been published each Friday of the school year by the students of Andrew Lewis. During this time the News has shared a page in the Salem Times-Register through the courtesy of Mr. J. H. Thornton, owner and publisher. The Staff has been kept busy during the year on Monday afternoons in order to meet the deadline for news. Consequently some stories had to be written in advance and other live news had to be omitted entirely. As the editors of this volume are soon to turn the work over to others, they wish for them the same pleasure the present editors have had in telling a bit of the “news” and some of the “gossip” of Andrew Lewis. F. A. Chapter The Andrew Lewis Chapter of Future Farmers of America has steadily increased its enrollment for the past few years and it now ranks among the first five chapters in Virginia. The chapter is proud of several of its outstanding achievements in the past year. The Andrew Lewis Chapter won the Botetourt-Roanoke-Bedford Federation Livestock Judging Contest and also took first place in the Federation Basketball Tournament. We hope to do equally well in public speaking and take contests later in the year. One of the highlights was the chapter banquet and dance which was given in cooperation with the Flome Economics Club. [ 80 ]
