Offering courses in French, Spanish, German and
Latin, the Language Department seeks to teach
students to read, speak, write and, principally, to
understand their chosen languages. Tape recorders,
slide projectors, phonographs, records and a film
sound projector are used. Special fourth year lan-
guage classes are designed to give interested stu-
dents a better conversational knowledge of their
languages. International understanding is fostered
through study of the culture of the people, whose
music, song and dance are usually reflected in the
annual Language assembly program.
