Sing "We feel a SING coming on, And we're warning you, It's a victorious, happy and glorious new thrill? Out went the lights! A chord sounded from the piano and White-clad Freshmen entered, proclaim- ing the first Iackson SING! After four months of enthusiastic rehearsals under the direction of Mr. George Cohn, co-com- missioners jerry Blatt and Marion Blucher, and the triumvirate of class advisers, Mr. Sydney Vinitsky, Miss Joyce Denig and Mr. Harvey Ornstein, the musical interclass competition was presented on March 20 and 21. With a burst of bright yellow and dramatic black, the Sophomores began the program. Indig- nant at "being suppressed and oppressed and de- pressedv by upperclassmen, they "escaped" to the Army in an attempt to become more than "under- dogsf' but army life not being what they had ex- pected, they were soon longing to return to Iackson. Before an impressive backdrop picturing the Eiffel Tower and the Arch of Triumph, Iacksonls "middle children," the Iuniors, who had gone tres Parisiens, protested against "class favoritismf, Their woe was "just one of simple placementf, for they were "too old to plead Inferiority and too young to plead Superiorityf, Realizing, however, that they would soon arrive at their seniority, they decided to return to Jackson.
