Crowd Filled Auditorium for Long-awaited Despite a fire on the stage only three days before, the formal dedi- cation of Jackson finally took place, November 6, six months after the date originally set. The builders presented the school to the holding corporation who in turn presented it to the South Bend Community School Corporation. Among the dignitaries on the stage were the Board of School Trustees, architects, South Bend Mayor Lloyd Allen, Superintendent Charles C. Holt and former Superintendent Alex Jardine, under whose tenure the building was begun. The Glee Club sang No Man Is An Island and the DAR presented a flag. After the ceremony was an open house with refreshments served by the Parent-Teachers Association. TRUSTEES AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS lis- ten as Dr. Holt thanks the holding corporation.
