CLASS OF I9 60 Our senior year at A. H. S. found us returning with nine members. We started the year well, winning the magazine drive and having our class pictures taken in time to receive them back for Christmas. Our class was very active in sports and school activities. Janet, Janice, and Avis played girls ' basketball. Janice was our only con- tribution to the Softball team. Mike participated in basketball, skiing, and baseball. In the senior play, Which Shall He Marry, Janet, Janice, Avis, and Mike did a splendid job. Bernice was chosen head cheerleader; and Avis, DAR candidate. Most of the class took part in the Glee Club and the Square Dance Club. Janet represented our class as Queen Candidate. Here we are at last - Seniors! We want to thank each and everyone who has guided us during our four years at A. H. S. We realize that we are now on our own, and the future lies ahead. AWARDS This year the eighth grade History Medal went to Theresa Sylvester for outstanding work in American History during the month of February. Every year the regional chapter of the D. A. R. awards this medal to a deserving student who has shown outstanding interest in the history of his country. Every year a girl is chosen out of the Senior class as a represen- tative of the annual good citizenship Pilgrimage of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This year Avis Perkins was chosen DAR candidate. The qualifications for this honor are as follows: leadership, service, dependability, and patriotism. The annual tea was held in Rumford.
