CLASS HISTORY As sophomores we greeted Andover High, not knowing exactly what would befall us in the next three years, but brave enough to undertake our new world head-on. " Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown " ; however, our president, Mary Ann Pasquale, and her fellow of- ficers: Malcolm Sandberg, vice-president; Louise John- ston, secretary; Peter Beaven, treasurer; and Jo-Ann Murray, Social Committee chairman guided us through a very successful year. We held a bakery sale as well as our first class dance. Holly Hop, which proved to be a tremendous success. " To be or not to be " was a thought in every mind as we encountered Mid- Year Examinations for the first time. Having survived the exams and Beatnick Day, we had our class assembly, which was a new and fun- filled experience. Our junior year held many projects. Our first move was the election of class ofl!icers: Malcolm Sandberg, 0 president; Doug Howe, vice-president; Martha Zink, secretary; Jim O ' Reilly, treasurer; and Renee Dubocq; Social Committee chairman. Next, we chose our class rings. These formalities completed, we held a success- ful bakery sale and a dance. Twilight Time. How could any one possibly forget our memorable class assembly. ' Our biggest undertaking for the year was the Prom. Under the guidance of Mary Ann Pasquale and Libby Doig, Prom Committee chairmen, Starlight on the Surf became a star-studded, moon-lit reality, and Renee Dubocq its lovely queen. Our " salad days when we were green in judgment " had passed, and we were seniors. Our class oflicers: Peter Beaven, prseident; Thelma Watson, vice-presi- dent; Renee Dubocq, secretary; Jim O ' Reilly, treasurer; and Maureen Callahan, Social Committee Chairman led us through two successful money-making projects: a dance, Fall Festival, and a ski movie, Ski Happy. Our football team, with Ray Collins and John Popielarski as co-captains, was Little Three Champion. Wendy Blackman and Mary Ann Pasquale were the co-editors of the Andanno. " The play ' s the thing " ; and, under the able direction of Mrs. Saunders, the capable representatives of our class performed You Can ' t Take It With You. " ' Tis true; ' tis true ' tis pity. And pity ' tis ' tis true " that our senior year is over all too soon with a final whirl of class day, class night, Senior Chapel, and finally graduation, which will close the door to our years at AHS and open the door to our future.
