The objective of a high school is to pre-
pare a student for his immediate future,
be it a job or college. Realistically,
everyone is not cut out for college. Some
try and fail 5 others go right to work
and succeed. But in high school every-
one tries the latest fads, verbal expres-
sions, and manner of dress, and good
times for all naturally go along.
The most distinguishable characteris-
tics of a take-charger are readily appar-
ent during the passing periods and lunch
hours, when he is boss of his own activity
and leisure, and his natural, zealous
enthusiasm is most noticeable. It is then
that the ability of the teenager to take-
charge of a situation, important or
frivolous, shines through.
Both male and female AHS'ers take science courses in increasing numbers.
