J 1 z'-5:5 'iw 15 Wmg l DEDICATIQN Vera M. Nash A Teacher must possess the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of Job, the love of a Mother, the dedication of an Apostle, and sometimes, the ferocity of a mountain lion. While we are small, she is called upon to wipe noses, rub hurts, and instill in our hearts a love for learning. As we grow older, and emerge from the grades, she is still called upon to wipe noses, rub hurts, and instill learning. A teacher subtly mixes the love for learning with a respect for her authority and an appreciation of the tremendous task she has undertaken to mold us into good citizens. A teacher can be found. . .in the classroom, the cafeteria, the library, and looking over your shoulder-at times. She is always present where there is learning, entertainment, turmoil, or at an assembly, overseeing the motley horde. Miss Nash is all of these things to the students, and more. She has a great understanding of our desires and feelings and she manages to make us want to accomplish great things iust to please her. We are all better people for iust having known her and she will be with us always, for we can never forget such a warm, understanding teacher and friend. Gary Langefeld 4 40 'WSW 4fv,,S 'Osh a RSO . Vice-President Member Member FOREST HILLS BOARD OF EDUCATION This publication is prepared for a two-told pur- pose. lt provides a panoramic record of individual and group achievements and it provides another means tor community understanding and apprecia- tion of our High School. Our school is comprehensive in organization. Following the American tradition of free public edu- cation for all, we administer to the educational needs of the individual in order that each child may rise to his own best potential. Ever mindful ot this basic American philosophy, we are providing a challenge for our gifted as well as an opportunity for our less talented. Our national welfare requires not only education for the most capable, but the best possi- ble education for all students. America requires developed talents of all types. Every American parent wants the best education for his children. Community and school understand- ing ot the basic principles and obiectives involved result in the required support for attainment ot those obiectives. Where support is adequate, schools are usually ot high quality, with broad diversiied pro- grams, with excellent teaching statfs, adequately meeting the many educational challenges of the community. lt is that service we strive to give at Anderson High. 6 ff 'tw 3:2 t E3 1 Q 7-A s- i 1 GEORGE G. WHITE MADELINE LIEBERMAN Member Clerk ADMINISTRATION E. WAYNE TITUS Principal J. WALTER REECE Assistant Principal MARTHA E. SILVER Secretary To the Seniors: Graduation from high school marks one of the memor- able occasions in your lifetime. Your success thus far has been made possible because you and those responsible for you were willing to work and sacrifice in order that you might achieve. As you continue to grow in knowledge and wisdom you will prosper according to your ability to discriminate in the choices you will be called upon to make. Certain truths, such as the acceptance of the existence of a Supreme Being, the realization that the first element of success is the determina- tion to succeed, and the acknowledgement that "there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so," will but serve to hasten the enioyment you will get out of living. ln a very real sense you have now just begun to live because from now on most of the decisions you make will be your own. May success be yours as you loin the countless thousands who have preceded you in the quest for righteous and bounteous living. E. W. Y-TEENS Y-TEENS SYMBOL The triangle represents the member- growing as a person-growing in friendship with people of all races, religions, and nationalities-growing in the knowledge and love of God. The globe represents the international scope of the YWCA and the need for world fellowship in order that we may some day realize the ideal of "peace on earth, good will toward men." As the Y-Teen member strives to grow in the knowledge and love of God, her triangle and the world expand like her growing-self. This symbol is a reminder of the way in which she wishes to live.
