' A THE ANDERSONIAN ' A BOYS' BASKETBALL lfrom a standpoint of games won and lost and number of points scored the basketball season of 1933-3-l cannot be considered particularly successful. liut the season has developed material that promises a very brilliant outlook for the oncoming two or three years. The men who received letters this year were Ci. Kersting, F. Yielhauer, ll. Russ, R. Aubke. bl. Bell and 'l'. Terwilliger. These men formed the line- up for our team on the court during the majority of the games. The reserve squad Corbly, Fehl and Davis as forwards, VVolfer and Rich- ardson as guards, and Aubke as center, through their faithfulness and hard work well deserved the numerals which they have earned. ln regard to next season, we wish the boys all kinds of luck and a lot of success. Here's to you, boys! GIRLS' BASKETBALL li-l I Helen Sehneider- Captain , Anderson's greatest center. She will be missed next year at home and abroad. Esther Schneider-Our foul shooter and high scorer of the season. Look up l1er records and see the games she won. Dorothy lleiser-A freshman forward and one whom St. Bernard in the tournament will never forget. , Virginia Thompson-A flash, a bounce, and under the basket she goes. Let's hope she goes to Anderson another year. Bernice Dunn-If loyalty can be rewarded there is nothing too good for Bernice. Thelma Knippling- Co-Captain . The fight and spirit of our basket- ball team. Lois Cross-Always dependable and ready for action, the kind of player folks like to have around. Lorraine Guenther-The spirit of Anderson in every way. Do you re- member how she guarded in the game with Taylor? Evelyn Sonnycalf-Stop them you must, stop them she will: the way she plays will give anyone a thrill! Lois Stemple-Fast. alert. and always in the game, fighting, for her bas- ketball team. Margaret Martin-Quietly and quickly she goes about her game. Ask her opponentsg she plays them all the same. Mildred Rigg, Imelda VVhite, and Betty Hack were subs who had little chance of showing their wares.
