The Dean ' s Cup Award gives students the opportunity to compete with each other as a member of a hall unit. It is awarded at the end of each se- mester to a women ' s and a men ' s unit. Points are given based on a unit ' s participation in several areas of student ac- tivity. The format for the Dean ' s Cup Award was adopted in the spring of 1978 by the Adminis- tration of Anderson College. The purpose of the award is to encourage members on the hall to function as a group in order to accumulate points. For a group to achieve points they must become competent in group organization, motivation, and decision making. Points are earned by partici- pation in such activities as painting the hall, playing in in- tramurals, participating in ser- vice projects, sponsoring a reli- gious program.
