First Night Opens Holiday Season Christmas First Night is an annual event here at AC offi- cially opening the holiday sea- son for students. Usually the first weekend in December, First Night begins Friday night with a musical program being performed in the Merritt Auditorium. Next, Dr. Rust lights the Yule Log in the par- lor between Merritt and Den- mark. The dorms are open to the public for several hours so that each hall may be seen and judged according to the origi- nality and effect of its decora- tions. To students, a Christmas at AC would not be the same without celebrating Christmas First Night. Each student ' s door is decorated to celebrate Christmas and the annual First Night. Dr. and Mrs. Rust attend every First Night and meet the public and visit the students. 24 Christmas First Night
