As men and women you are entering a new phase of your life and to have had a part in preparing you for it has been extremely gratifying. As young Americans you have a great challenge to meet You have a rich heritage which the young people of no other country possess but which is envied by all and which in many parts of the world has created a hatred and an evil deslre to rob you by stealth or by force, so that your way of life and your standard of liv1ng shall not be better than that of those who have never had the will or the courage to create for themselves Do not be misled by those who call themselves friends or even Americans, who would tell you that you have no right to enjoy th1s heritage while there are those in the world who have less Your forefathers by their hard work, resourcefulness and thriftiness, and because of their will to create, and their love for freedom and respect for the indiv1dual, have left in trust for you a great tradition that you will be called upon to protect not only from direct assault, but from Utopian issues and crackpot ideologies If you sit by passively, many of the things that you take so uch for granted and that seem so commonplace will be taken from you You have your task before you and only by diligence, alertness and hard work, can you discharge the great responsibilities that are now your privilege as adults to assume As you close your high school days, the final chapter in the history of the Anchorage High School is being written Our hopes are high that you w111 carry its fine tradi tions with you and help perpetuate them so that all might remember them as an inspira tion In its passing it is our belief that a new school is being born that will take with it, as you do, the best of Anchorage High tion would do next New as graduates, we will follow your careers with no less interest and shall accept with great pride the news of your future achievements Sincerely ANCHORAGE OARD OF ED 0 QQQJ0- Chair BOARD OF EDUCATIQN Peter B Lanham Jr Chemnsn Salas H Brewer Samuel S Caldwell Boyce F Msrtun Sem Gwsthmey Tyler Jr : I As students we have loved you although we sometimes wondered what the 'younger genera- . pyfigiggfig I U n I . . ,.,'.'. 1 . e .'- ,.l BE 3021 Louusvnlle Kentucky COmP"mef1fS Of The Dee A Beauty Shoppe Plehn s Bakery 2905 Brownsboro Road JULIA DEE ATKINS Owner Compluments of e American Saw 81 Tool Company Lyndon Market Lyndon Ky MEL KEELI NG 3823 Frankfort Ave TA 3661 Belmont Cab Inc Specxal Service to ST MATTHEWS and Adjacent Commumty Your Neighborhood Ford Dealer Open Nite and Sunday 3827 Frankfort TA 0353 H6 Chenoweth BE 1151 Farmers 81 Deposltors Bank at St Matthews ls the Best Place To Do Your Banking Lan Tay Turkey Farm Extra Fancy Double Breasted Turkeys Anch 80 I th Bluegrass Ford Co., Inc.
