This was the second straight season that we have either won or shared the title. Over a period of two seasons the baseball nine has lost only one league game. Dave Gardner hit and pitched the Tars through a six win and one loss record. Gardner, catcher Leonard Shipley, third baseman Bob Williamson, and left-fielder Tom Williamson were all named to the All-Conference First Team. Center-fielder Ralph Hellebuyck and short-stop John Funk were named to the All-Conference Second Team. Second baseman Richard Burr was All-Conference Honor- able Mention and was voted team captain.
