CLASS HISTORY
In the fall of 1942 7 little aspiring bareback riders and trapeze artists joined the Big Top at
their winter quarters in Anahuac Texas They were Douglas Austin Leroy Benson Charles Stephen

this time were Mrs jewel Sheffield and Mrs Harvey Palmer This group became very proficient in
the next few years at such arts as spit ball throwing window Jumping and hookey play1ng
It was in our third year on the road that we were Joined by that great clown George Tumer It
took a special Cramer from the lion tamers group to keep him in line, so he was assigned to the
Snake Lady
A year elapsed and 1n this time we had progressed very rapidly In fact, Douglas could walk
straight up the side of the school building unaided and George has mastered the manly art of the
chase Every girl in the class was after h1m w1th jo Ann, Marian jane and Bobble r1ght in behind
the hounds
In the fifth season Glynda Merle Neal the daring fire eater came to l1ve with us She was
