NORMA LEE ELLIOTT With the retirement of Lois Whittington, Norma Lee Elliott re- ceived the appointment ot Vice Principal and Dean of Girls. By teaching girls' physical education and acting as sophomore coun- selor, Mrs. Elliott has previously served Anaheim High. Though this T959-T960 school year marks the tirst year serving in this capacity, already Norma Elliott is greatly admired and en- deared by both students and faculty alike. I 6 As Dean ot Girls, Mrs. Elliott is continually occupied with pro- graming, scheduling and disciplining, as well as giving assistance with any ot the girls' personal problems. Being the adviser to the Dress Board is also included in her extra advisory activities. All ioin together to offer Norma Elliott warm congratulations on her first and most successful year as Anaheim's Dean of Girls.

It brings to mind the outstanding events that have happened in our lives, and emphasizes the importance of the present and the promise of the future. Your happiness is wrapped up in this theme. The foundation you have built at Anaheim High is but the beginning of what can be a glorious future for you all. Be sensitive to the spiritual idealism that molds character so well at this stage of your life. Make the most of the ecluca- tional opportunities that surround you. RYAN Richard Ryans twenty-ninth year at Anaheim Union High School finds him as busy and as indispensable as always. Serving the school in the capacity as Dean of Boys and Vice Principal, he is both pleasant and helpful, yet his sterness and efficiency in dealing with the students are responsible for his pop- ularity throughout the campus, Acting as Dean of Boys, he is constantly concerned with any problems of discipline which arise during the course of the year, as well as any personal problems confided to him. Always busy filling the capacity of Vice Principal, Richard Ryan still finds time for such advisory activities as adviser to both the Col- onist Club Cabinet and the Student Court. Great admiration is felt for Richard Ryan and much apprecia- tion tor his interest in Anaheim High and his dedication to education. I 7
