ITEPOR'l'M1GN'1' COlN1Ml'l I'lilG Miss XValkcr Schroeder ldilllldltl' l l'iPdFi0lls Fallis Androus Ulewitt Iieebe DEPORTMENT COMMITTEE The Deportment Committee of A. U. H. S. was organized during the first s:- mester and accomplished much in the way of maintaining an excellent citizenship standing among the students. The Committee is made up of students who are interested in maintaining a high standard of deportment and who are willing to work to achieve this result. This Committee is headed by the Vice President of the Student Body. The remainder of the Committee is made up of two members of each class. This year's committee was advised by Miss NValker and should be recognized for the excellent work accomplished. The deportment committee has proven to be a valuable part of the student gov- ernment at Anaheim Union High School. The existence of the committee is not considered as a constant threat to wrong- doers, but rather a group who have the desire to assist all students in good campus citizenship. So efiiciently have they functioned, and so well have the students supported them that practically all of the cases coming under the oliicial action of the committee have been of the distinctly minor variety. The students generally feel that the administration of these deportment problems by fellowfstudents is an aid to resourcefulness and good self-government. The deportment committee this year has kept up-to-date in its practice by con- stant alertness and contact with student government in other schools in Southern Cal- ifornia. Page Twenty-one

ASSOt'lA'l'El1 S'l'UlJEN'I' HOIIY UOMMISSIONERS Mr. Clayes Mr. NVaibel Miss NValker Mrs. Peek Shoemaker Beebe Boege Huseh Jungkeit Summers Franz COMMISSION The Student Body Commission of A. U. H. S. is designed to cooperate with the studenls in securing the needs of the students that will benefit the student-body in general. The Commission is divided into various departments that cover every phase of school life. The Commissioners are students who are elected by the student body in recognition of their ability to understand and forsee the needs for the welfare of the students. During the past two semesters the Colonist Commission has accomplished much in the policy of the student body. The new dues system was introduced and passed by the commission. Considering the late date at which the system was established it met with a large measure of success. The Commission apportioned the amount of money to be spent in the school Circus. The Commission enforced the Anti- Fraternity rule very strictly. This group was ve1'y active in maintaining the reputation of A. l'. H. S. in good sportsmanship. Though the Commission was handicapped through lack of finances due to the new state ruling of securing funds from students it progressed very well and deserves credit for the work done The Commission in their meetings were always under the capable guidance of Bliss VValker and INIr. VVaibeI. At the time of going to press the student body election for next year's officers was being planned by the 1930-31 commission. Installing the new oflicers will be the last oflicial act of the commissioners, and they will leave ollice satished that the student body has supported them loyally in all their undertakings. Its purpose was to create cooperation and a closer tie among the girls of Anaheim Union High School. Every girl automatically belongs. Also, every girl has her choice of belonging to one of twelve different groups. These groups are each concerned with certain definite duties, and as a result the work of the Girls' League has been evenly divided and the girls have more opportunity for individuality. This has been the fifth successful year of Uniform Dress. lnstead of the Uni- form Uress Committee of former years, lllrs. Schulz, our able adviser, undertook the responsibility of seeing that the girls were in uniforms. The girls have proven to themselves the value of this practice time and again, so they have cooperated with lN'Irs. Schulz very nicely. At the beginning of the school year, each Senior girl was given the names of two freshmen girls who were to be her little sisters. On registration day, the Little Sis- ters were entertained by the Big Sisters at a dinner in the cafeteria, introduced to their teachers, and shown their classrooms. The Drama Uepartment has presented many very interesting plays before the Girls' League throughout the year. Through the courtesy of Falkenstein's, a fashion show was presented to us and the girls derived both benefit and pleasure from it. A unique feature was presented this year in the form of a cake-baking contest. The girls were all urged to enter a cake, baked entirely by themselves. The contest was sponsored by the Southern Counties Gas Company. There were eleven prizes offered. After the judging, the cakes were sold, and the proceeds went to the Girls' League treasury. Several students from the University of Southern California visited the girls and told them of college life. The Senior girls were especially interested and were later given the opportunity to talk with the visitors at a tea given by the Hostess group. Page Twenty-two
