State Class A Tournament Held in Anaconda
The State basketball tournament. which was held in Anaconda s neva
Memorial Gym, saw the Butte Central Maroons take their first champion-
ship by defeating the Helena Bengals. 653 to 49. The Anaconda Copper-
heads placed third by defeating the Billings Broncs. 46 to 31. The Copper-
heads were kept from playing in the State championship because of a 45
to 41 loss to Butte Centra' in the semifinals.
Those participating were: Anaconda. Helena. Butte High, Butte Cen-
tral. Kalispell. Havre. Billings and Bozeman.
