Basketball Anaconda copped third place at the district tournament held at Livingston. placing a beautiful trophy among the others won by the Copperheads. To this they added the inter-city crown, defeating Saint Peter's Central 34-29. Einar Larson, member of the team, playing guard, chalked up most points and set a splendid record by his long and aczurate shots. Next high scorers were Hart- sell, Tolon and Bernatz. These, backed by such players as Blaz, Kershel. Galle- gher, Glynn, and Kirshov, presented many and exciting games this season. Hartsell showed his ability in the Anaconda-Butte Central game. With only a few seconds yet to play in the fourth quarter, he intercepted the ball, scoring, to place Anaconda the winner by a 26-25 score. After the team warmed up, there was no stopping them. They won eight of the last nine games, Billings interrupting their successive running streak. Anaconda went into the district meet as the underdog, but fully showed su- periority by conquering third place of the tournament. Those earning a letter in basketball this year are: Blaz, Bernatz, Gallagher, Glynn, Hartsell, Kershul, Kriskov, and Larson CCaptainl. With only two letter- men graduating, Hartsell and Larson, the prospective team of next year is very promising. 56 Amex Lnson A11 51110 Pxescntm Txopllx to Stucienr Bodx Plevdenr P1111 Spellman Summary Date A H Jan Jan Jan Jan Jan Jan Jan Jan Jan Feb Feb Feb Feb Feb Feb Feb Mar Mar Ynwm CRADUATING BASKETBALL PLAYFRQ Geoxge Haxtsell A1ne1 Lamson Opponent A H S Alumnx D111on L1V111g.S1.u11 Butte Hxgh Butte Centlal Bozeman Helena M1ss,ou1a L1V1I1git011 Bllhngs Bozeman Helena Gleat Fahs SCO1 8 Lewlbtown Gleat Falls St Petels Butte H1gh B1111nUS MISSOLIII Butte Cenual At the close of the season the Ae.
