ith over 940 students, our W highest enrollment ever, Amphi often seemed as busy and crowded as Disneyland. And, like the constant changes that make Disneyland so suc- cessful, our school underwent a lot of growth. Eleven new teachers and one new administrator were added to the staff, and three new portable class- rooms provided additional space. But our Disney-like spirit was obvious in the constantly improving campus, car- ing staff and students, outstanding ed- ucational program, and enjoyable ex- tra curricular activities and sports. Like a visit to Disneyland, the 1987-88 school year was excellent, fun and exciting! IUDENT LIFE NTE IZ A110 MU SIC O NTS . .4 tgilii? NS '. pecial Activities, Dances, and mblies Capture Magic Moments here were many special activ- ities to help students show their Pirate pride this year. One of the most popular, the school dances, included the Back to School, Winter, Valentine, and eighth grade Graduation Dance. Open House was a good way for stu- dents and their parents to get ac- quainted with their teachers. Students had fun skating or playing video games at the skate parties. We had half day Pride days when students got to pick what they wanted to do, and pride was also shown in little ways like swaying arms and screaming at Pep Rallies. We had a magazine drive which raised S14-,500.00. Students were also given opportunities to go to Catalina Island, Project Ocean, and to everybody's favorite place- DISNEYLAND! AJHS students are like visitors to Disneyland-when they set foot on campus they are eager to start a whole new day, excited about doing everything Amphi has to offer, and they feel special. Z 1.
