JHS Kicks ff With A Fantastic Season ike fans watching a parade on Main Street, Amphi Pirates showed their excitement at football games. The eighth graders took first place in the Delta League champi- onship with a no loss record. Their most valuable players were Jason Payne, Jude Candelaria, Tom Huthoefer, and Tony Belloso, and the team captain was Eric Hall. Seventh graders finished with a five win, one loss, one tie record. Top players were Armondo Belloso, Ricky Corella, Dave Couture, Tommy Fraijo, Gabe Bar- reda, Ben Myers, Shawn Roy, and Kien Truong. The team had a great season, a fantastic learning experi- ence, and they all grew A lot, said Coach Steimling. The lightweight team ended with a five win, two loss record. Most valuable players were Ryan Sou- cy, Chris Stanton, Jason Pederson, and Greg Laguna. Despite a very late start, we developed into a dis- ciplined team and had an outstanding season, said Coach Schmoker. l. Coaches Schmoker and Steimling instruct the 7th grade team. 2. Disney Spirit Shines In Volleyba ollowing weeks of preparation, hard work, and suspenseful games, our Pirates finished the season with a record to be proud of. Eighth graders were a hit. They had a record of 6 wins, nine losses. The most val- uable players were Rebecca Ampara- no, Taifa Hall, Barbie Johnson, and Bernadette Cardenas. The most im- proved were Wendy VanDeusen, Pam Broccoletti, Dianna Levy, Erica Scott, and Esther Casillas. Overall record for Considering the unusually large number of team players, I saw the most individual improvement in skill level. seventh grade was 9 wins, 5 losses. The most valuable players were Maria Rodriguez and Michelle Price. The most improved were Cam Friend and Robin Preciado, the most spirited were Tera Thompson and Kirsten Silberschlag. The record was 1 win to 8 losses for the overflow team. Most valuable players were Stacey Slonaker and Stacey Lybeck.
