ss A ' islifgfsm. ...... Q- . J - s Q Q , 1 , gk Mr. Sapp Retires r. Sapp started teaching 7th grade English in the old AJHS building in 1956. After a few years, he also started the first typing class for junior high students. He was head of the English department until Ms. Lowe took over the position. He has con- ducted the AJHS spelling bee for the past 12 years, has been the pronounc- er for the District Spelling Bee and is a judge for the County Spelling Bee. He advised the AJHS yearbook for 12 years, doing all the dark room work and group photography. While he was advisor of the AHS HI-Y club he was 46 elected Advisor of the Year. His hob- bies include singing and painting with oils and acrylics. He sang as soloist for the White Christmas program for many years, as well as for programs done by the Amphi High Music De- partment. He also sings with the Tuc- son Masterworks Chorale, which gives several concerts per year in the Tuc- son area. Mr. Sapp's painting, shown above, is owned by our library. He has contact with many former students who have grown up and are now lead- ing successful lives. Amphi won't be the same without him! lag gi! iffw Q gi , 2: A ' fl Q
