This year we got a new Assistant Principal, Ms. Lefkowitz. In addition, our administration imple- mented several new programs includ- ing Peer Tutoring, Peer Mediation, BRIDGE program lan alternative pro- gram at Amphi Highl, Skills for Ad- olescents, AlMS lAchievement through Innovation leading to Mastery and Successl-an on-campus alterna- tive program, Thinking Skills, and APEX lmentors for minoritiesl. Car- ried over from previous years were Just Say No, Study Skills, Miss School- Miss Out four attendance reward pro- graml, and The Academic Pentathalon. as F his year's yearbook is dedicated to Ms. Dee Dinota, AJHS's in- redible physical education teacher. In me three years she's been teaching ere she's devoted 99.91, of her time, nergy and love to our school and it's tudents. She was born in Long Island, lew York, and came to Tucson to go J the U of A on a softball scholarship. 'he comes from an athletic family and as always liked sports. She has also worked with the PTSA for two years and involves her adaptive P.E. class in the Children's Special Olympics. When asked where she gets her mo- tivation she says, I'm Italian and l'm always on the go. She also loves kids, and feels the way you treat people is the way they treat you.
