Selective Electives any electives were offered at AJHS this year. They included art, typing, Spanish, DMT, woodshop, home economics, drama, publications, ensemble, chorus, com- puters, band, and orchestra. The computer classes did research on planning hotel res- ervations, tours, and travel expenses. ln the home economics classes, the students had a unit on child development and nutrition. They studied the process of childbirth and child raising and learned about the main food groups. Students also elected to work as aides in the office and classes. Classroom aides corrected papers, tutored students, 2 2. Here comes the bride! -John Boulet and Stephanie Benavidez walk down the isle in a Spanish wedding. 3. Chris Jones, Chris Bonac- corsi, and Gabriel Gonzales work on their clay masks in art. 4. Wendy Van Deusen reads a story she wrote for her drama class. 12 ww-5 2 and took the attendance. The office aides helped Donna, Mr. Ritchie, and i iiii ' anyone else who needed help in the office. Drama was a new elective that started this year. The students pro- duced one play each semester. For the first time, advanced DMT classes were offered. These students built models of their dream houses. The orchestra took a trip to Flagstaff for the Grand Canyon Festival, and all the other electives continued their exciting ac- tivities.
