To become a member of this club is possibly the highest honor a student can attain in Amory Junior -Senior High School. The honor society is based on service, character, leadership, and scholarship (with emphasis on scholarship). The student installed must have a 90 or above average, with no single yearly average under 85, unless an extra unit has been taken with a grade of 90 or above average received in it. The names of the members are placed on a national roll in Washington, and are recognized by all colleges and high schools. The National Honor Society is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary Principals. The Amory chapter was chartered in 1960. 26
