You better hurry Forty Niners for w6'a e hitting the trail N That was the voice of our Junior class President, Tommy Crews, who is bosslng the wagon this year with the help of Harold Applegate, Maurice Bombei, Reporter and especially Mrs Sullivan, our Oponsor HI had better count to see if everyone is here Stra , Booty, Wilson, Jelty, Buis, Kersey, McCam ack, etc Say, that a new face? Nhat is your name9n 'Nho me? I'm Don Jones from Tech a Democrat by the way WToo bad, and he looked like such a nice fellow too Well, counting our other new member, Marjorie Fox, we have, twenty six Forty Niners on board U 'Gettie up Dobbi 4 A lot happened after this little conversation passed, for it seems that nDoboinn got to going too fast and Marjorie Fox and George Archer fell off the wagon All of our gold digging efforts were a failure and we had to make money by selling concession at the Junior stand, although some of the people in school began to look upon us as robbers, we were fairly successful in this financial venture Ne also made a tidy profit on our Junior Play, of fun practicing and giving our play and felt that it was a huge success This year the Forty Niners kept the covered wagon rock ing back and forth with excitement and entertainment Our Prospectors played a very important part in Athletic Act ivities in the school and county Harold Applegate, Tom Mc Cam ack, Connie Cress, Tommy Crews, Don Jones, Maurice Bom bei, Leon Buis, and Vernon Kersey took an active part not only in basketball, but also baseball and track Iyrna Logue was elected one of the high school yell leaders and thus represented the girl's at sports functions Je were very successful in the class tourney this year as ve not only defeated the Sophomores Hotshot, but also shot the reshman Skunks and roasted the senior Juzzards, to win the tourney Ve changed the name of our team to Huiants and our colors to red and gray before this event Anne Marley and Myrna Logue were chosen as our class yell leaders again ' . - r . -- hl is ' . . l 1 I - .. - .
