Q 9 gg iWwiWMfE,MmOWR L E S 4 5 OUR JUNIOR PLAY AUNTIE'S MONEY Cast of Characters Mrs. Case-a rich old lady .................. Ann Archer Veleta Case-Mrs. Case's pretty niece ........ Luella Austin Berthanna-the housemaid ............ Dolores Applegate Lance Case-the lazy nephew ...........l... Russell Hulse Ruddy Boles-in love with Veleta ........., David Burnett Dr. Max Bones-talkative quack doctor .... Rolland Rollings Dr. Bert Stocton-another doctor .......... Charles Feller STORY OF THE PLAY Auntie is a dear old person, who is deaf and temperamental and about to bestow the lion's share of her S100,000 estate on Lance, her fa- vorite nephew. Because of her deafness, she is unaware of Lance, who is a worthless scoundrel, and who is always planning how he will spend the money he will receive on Auntie's death. She showers many kind- nesses upon him, letting the point of her vitriolic tongue fall upon her lovely niece. Lance's cousin, Veleta, who, being a gentle woman, will not betray Lance or allow her lawyer fiance, Ruddy Boles, to do so. All would have gone well with him but for the timely arrival of two quack doctors, who, wishing to separate Auntie from some of her gold for themselves, agree to cure her deafness. Much to their surprise, and Auntie's , too, they do heal her deafness by a very peculiar and interest- ing method. Lance, unaware that Auntie has recovered her hearing, talks a bit too much and at long last Auntie discovers that she has been lavishing her attention on the wrong person. Ruddy Boles, Veleta's law- yer friend, also has a very important part in the play and his constant work does much to clear up the family feud, even if it is just a wee bit perplexing to the simple minded housemaid, Berthanna. 22
