Sheil, Mr Maisel Mr Carpenter Varsity Football strike for the TD. Ortiz, Fahey, and D'Alessio played out- standing defensive games for Amity. Cheviot added ten more points and the outcome was 22-0. The following game was Homecoming with a tough Riverhead team. Ross Schlinger made a beautiful over the head catch of a pass that set up Cheviot's plunge and 8-0 lead. The TIDE then put the game out of reach with two TD in fourth quarter by Cheviot and Mathis. Ebner and Little were credited with out- standing showings which gave the TIDE a 24-0 shutout. The TIDE blitzed a weak Bayport team 46-8. Cheviot scored 38 points and Voliton had five interceptions. The offensive line was great as was the defensive led by Ebner and Mathis. The seasons final game was against Bellport. Before the game Voliton and Scalise were voted the 1976 team captains, the team's highest award. The game was never in doubt with the score 38-12. In this game Cheviot scored 24 points to give him a season total of 110 and second place in the county scoring. Tom Cheviot, Rob Ebner, Ted Mathis, Dwayne StThomas were named to the all League team. Cheviot was also named to the All Conference and All County team.
