of you who have given your time
and shown that you care by partici-
pating in sports, clubs, and academ-
1cs.
As you page through this book of
memories, feel proud, because it is
you who have helped in your own
way to make these memories.

The Class
of 7973
The Class of '73 will not be back next year
but their memories of life at Amity High
School will not soon be forgotten. Memories
of things such as: football gamesfand practicesj,
sock-hops, I-Iomecomings, being freshman,
gathering canned food, selling concessions,
proms, class plays, and of course schoolwork.
There are also memories of classmates. Who
will ever forget Kathleen's curly red hair,
Mark's whistling, Robin playing the drums,
janet and Linda's straight A's, Sheila and
horses, and Ruthie and julie just being Ruthie
and Julie.
Many seniors will be going on to college next
year and others have different plans. But no
matter where their goals may lie the Class
of 1973 looks toward the future with high hopes
and anticipation.

Bright and early on a Monday morning the class
of '73 left the high school for the Inn of the 7th
Mountain, near Bend. The long journey was
interrupted by breakfast at Detroit and several
stops along the way. After reaching our destination,
swimming and sunbathing became the main activi-
ties. There was also tennis, hiking, and of course,
eating. Everyone enjoyed the whole day, and
g were sorry to leave. The main activity on the
way home trying to find a way to sleep on a bus
. seat.

SOPHOMORES
The Class
of 7 975
1973 was a fun filled one for the Sophomores.
They sold light bulbs to make money, because
after all everyone needs lightbulbs. Iere'
I-Iowitt reigned as the sophomore class princess
at Homecoming. AtChristmas, they chose the
theme Winter Wonderland for their Christmas
Window and received 2nd place for their efforts.
Ordering class rings proved to be a very exciting
adventurer. May Day rolled around and Norina
Ruiz was chosen as princess. Class president
Doug McKee was her escort. As the year
ended, the class thoughts turned to thinking of
past memories and to the future and being
upperclassmen.

JUNIORS
The Class p T
of 1974
This year the junior class was a very enthusiastic
group. Right away the class started out with big
money making ideas. They sold concessions
during the football and basketball games and
held a car wash. The Junior class Play, Mister
Co-ed, made the juniors lois of money, boo.
Margy Taylor was the Homecoming princess for
1972, with Mr. Loren Cornutt as her escort. As
time rolled by, Christmas was here and the
Juniors won 1st 'place on their Christmas window.
With the passing of the winter months came May
Day. Georgene DeRaeve represented her classas
Junior class May Day princess and class president,
Ronnie Williams was her escort.
The Junior-S enior Banquet was held at the Kopper
Kitchen North in Salem, Oregon. The banquet
went well and finally the Junior-S enior Prom
marked the end for all the hard work. The Prom
was held at the Flying M Ranch and Leslie Farris
was the Junior class Prom princess. Don Welliver
was her escort.
After all their hard struggles through the year, the
Juniors looked forward to finally being Seniors.

Mr. Charles Wiltse, Superintendant
An education should provide young people
with the traits of self discipline, self moti-
vation, and with the incentive and drive to
help each individual ind his place in life.
Plato once saidg "A good education consists
of giving the body and the soul all the beauty
and perfection of which they are capable.
The person who graduates today and stops
learning tomorrow will be under educated
the day after. In this modern world nothing
is more certain than change.
Best of luck and success to each graduating
senior in finding his place in this democratic
country that requires every high school
graduate to assume new and great respon-
sibilities if this nation is to stuvive and
prosper.
If one might partake in an educational recipe
made up of a philosophical blend of a traditional
First Sargeant and a contemporary psychiatrist
and assure himself the blending would not cause
a breakdown of the structure of self-discipline
nor the process of critical thinking, that direction
may well give him the answers to becoming a
marketable, socially adjusted, responsible
citizen.

Future Teachers of America were busy this
year performing activities for the school year
72-73.
"'i"'3iswl
The club sponsored the Sadie Hawkins dance
and the Mardi Gras. They were both very suc
cessful.
They also had the eighth graders over for
visitation and each member had a boy or girl
to show around the high school.
For initiation the club members planted a
tree in front of the school.
It was a good year for F.T.A. and it will be
even better next year.

This year the Future Homemaker-s of America got right
going with activities. There first activity was the
initiation of 11 new members. As money making proj-
ects the girls had numerous bake sales, and washed
the football uniforms after every game. This year four
representatives and the advisor went to the District
meeting held at Banks. There, Cindy Miller was
elected 1972-73 District Secretary. Around Halloween
time the girls marched for UNICEF and made approxi-
mately 354O. O0 for the mentally retarded. As seasons
rolled by the F.H.A. held their annual Christmas
Dance. The theme for the dance was Winter Wonder-
land and it came off as a big success. In April the
girls held their annual Style Show and Daddy Date.
These, too, were a success. As the year came to an
end the girls served for the F.F.A. banquet. The girls
look forward to another big year next year.

SENIOR CLASS PLA Y
This year's Senior Class play, "Gur Miss Brooks, " was a
comedy directed by Mrs. Verna Templetong The play, set
in a class room, was the story of a high school teacher,
Miss Brooks, played by jean Farris, and the troubles she has
Drying to put on a school play. Her main' problem was a
very unreasonable principal, played by Kent Currie, and
also adding to her troubles was her not too happy romance
with the coach, played by Kevin Pendergraft. All the
Members of the cast did a fine job and will remember for
a long time the fun they had putting on the play.

SPRING WEEK
Cowboys, baby bottles, bandits and bums, all set
the scene for Spring Week '73. On the first day
everyone returned to their childhood of lolly pops
and bubblegum. That was followed by hat day.
Then everyone decided to get out of their jeans
and dress-up in their best clothes. Western day was
' the next event. There was a tug-of-war between
the classes and the junior and Sophomore team
won! ! ! On the last day everyone decided what they
were going to be for the rest of their lives, bums
. . . So all in all, it was great fun during Spring

presented a comedy play, "Mr, Co-Ed. " The
play took place in the main lounge of a rim-
down girls' school. Things happened from a
famous modern English poet reading his
poetry to a cowboy dressed as a girl, picking
violets, daisies and buttercups, to a P.E.
teacher doing excercises in the middle of an
important meeting. In all, it was great fun
forthe cast and also for the people who
watched it.

dance after being named queen. Carol Presnall
was the Senior Princess, and Leslie Farris was
the junior Princess. The Banquet was held two
weeks before at the Kopper Kitchen North. Mr.

Art Class Trips!
All the Art Classes went on two field
trips. The first was to O.C.E. , and to
Lueh.r's candle shop. At O.C.E. they
saw all different kinds of Art, including
work from High Schools in Oregon. The
second trip was to Iayjensons. Firstthey
stopped a little ways out of Sheridan and
had a picnic lunch. There was a river by
the park, so you know what happened
Everyone got into a water fight. When
everyone was wet, they took off for ja
jensons place to see some of his beauti
ful pottery
