The Class of 7973 The Class of '73 will not be back next year but their memories of life at Amity High School will not soon be forgotten. Memories of things such as: football gamesfand practicesj, sock-hops, I-Iomecomings, being freshman, gathering canned food, selling concessions, proms, class plays, and of course schoolwork. There are also memories of classmates. Who will ever forget Kathleen's curly red hair, Mark's whistling, Robin playing the drums, janet and Linda's straight A's, Sheila and horses, and Ruthie and julie just being Ruthie and Julie. Many seniors will be going on to college next year and others have different plans. But no matter where their goals may lie the Class of 1973 looks toward the future with high hopes and anticipation. With the passing of the winter months came May Day. Georgene DeRaeve represented her classas Junior class May Day princess and class president, Ronnie Williams was her escort. The Junior-S enior Banquet was held at the Kopper Kitchen North in Salem, Oregon. The banquet went well and finally the Junior-S enior Prom marked the end for all the hard work. Mr. Charles Wiltse, Superintendant An education should provide young people with the traits of self discipline, self moti- vation, and with the incentive and drive to help each individual ind his place in life. Plato once saidg "A good education consists of giving the body and the soul all the beauty and perfection of which they are capable. The person who graduates today and stops learning tomorrow will be under educated the day after. In this modern world nothing is more certain than change. Best of luck and success to each graduating senior in finding his place in this democratic country that requires every high school graduate to assume new and great respon- sibilities if this nation is to stuvive and prosper. If one might partake in an educational recipe made up of a philosophical blend of a traditional First Sargeant and a contemporary psychiatrist and assure himself the blending would not cause a breakdown of the structure of self-discipline nor the process of critical thinking, that direction may well give him the answers to becoming a marketable, socially adjusted, responsible citizen.
