During the year, this organization sponsored the annual football and basketball banquets, the Sweet- heart Dance, Seniors of the Month, and the school elections. The group also sold Comet sweatshirts, edited the students' Comet Handbook, bought letters for the schedule-of-event sign, and hosted meetings of the Lakeland Conference Student Council for which Tim Nagy was president. For the gym, the Council purchased pennants representing the Lakeland Conference schools. The CALS also provide a closer fellowship among the girls who are interested in athletics. Among their many activities, the CALS took part in interscholastic volleyball and basketball games, sponsored the annual Patch Hop. and made an offering basket at Thanksgiving.
