Class of '44 ln the early part of the year the sophomores caught a germ called La Conga-Rhumbaf' With Xavier Cugatu Ludwig as instructor they spent much time at the class party in ul-2-3 kicking. Three of their members, Norma Wavrick, pianist, and Wayne Heller and Elaine Hamann, clarinetists, earned prestige for the class by receiving superior ratings in the Clearview and Oberlin music contests. One of the class projects was selling those attractive green and gold megaphone pennants. The group also sponsored a dance and a skating party. The sophomore chapel was a take-off on the modern radio serials. According to Webster, the word unique means without an- other of the same kind or unparalleled.
