. 1 . —e s — 3 PS SA ы = | ) D Ls History of the Sophomore Class IGHT MONTHS and twenty-one days ago the Sophomores brought forth into this school a new class, conceived in Central and Welch and dedicated to the proposition that all classes are not created equal. Now we are engaged in a great contest, testing whether this class, or any class so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We have come to tell our reasons for believing that this class will long endure. The class showed fine promise in athleties. “R. C.” Mulhall was given a berth on the football team and was awarded a major letter. Randall Trotter had similar success in basketball. Prominent in the Dramatie and Debate Clubs were other members of the sophomore class. Ronald Ross had a part in the cast of the Dramatic Club's fall play, The Outsider. Richard MeCarthy was elected a member of the National Forensic League in recognition of his work in debate. Many Sophomores won places in Mixed Chorus and Glee Clubs. Band and Orchestra also claimed many sophomores. Would-be journalists found places in the Cubs’ Club, gaining worthwhile experience as they helped the senior journalism classes gather news for the Web. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we have said here, but it ean never forget what we did here. KATHLEEN KILDEE 39.
