he Tavern Uniuersiiy Club The Snack Bar offers a fine variety of exquisite sandwiches. Cooked before your eyes, only the best qual- ity Grade AAA meats are used. Swift, convenient service is their trademark. The Tavern, probably the best on-campus food facility, offers a pleasant atmosphere of contem- porary music mixed with the sweet aroma of stale beer. The vending machines, when working properly (rarely), offer a wide variety of popsicles, candy, cakes, and sometimes fermented sandwiches. Prices vary from ten cents to three dollars per item. The University Club offers a pleasant atmosphere, but the food is unmistakeably ARA. Prices may vary from meal to meal, adding to the charm of the place. page 27

The A LaCarte 5nack3 ox No one will ever dispute the fact that people need to eat. Eat- ing is as basic to life as breathing. However, the A.U. student seems constantly faced with a dilem- ma — Is it healthier to eat food that the campus offers, or is it healthier to starve? Unfortunate- ly, man does not live on Hostess Twinkies alone. On-campus eating facilities include the Contract Dining Room, A La Carte Dining Room, the Snack Bar, the Tavern, and the vending machines. All the above led to the success of Pepto- Bismol. The Contract Dining Room offers a refreshing diet of starches, starches and starches. A typical meal might include: spa- ghetti, bread, rolls, french fries, potato salad, and doughnuts for dessert. The A La Carte Dining Facility is a slightly more comfortable cafeteria, with a little more class tha n the Contract Dining Room. Unlike the other facilities, the food is served not only cooked, but warmed. page 26
