Mrs. Mary Kuhel, President of the Board of Education, reviews Steering and Rules Report to committee members. School Board School Board Approves Closed Circuit Television Utilizing closed-circuit telecasts of scholastic basketball games, Ambridge Area High School initiated a first in Pennsylvania. Due to the efforts of Ambridge Area School Board Officials and a representative of the Appel Visual Service in Pittsburgh, a contract was signed on November 4, 1966 to have seven Ambridge Section 3 home basketball games televised. The signing of the contract eased the seating situation in the gym. Students were the first to be offered the season tickets for the eight hundred available gymnasium seats. All remaining tickets were sold to eager adults on November 16. Official meetings were conducted on the second Thursday of each month. The last Thursday of each month was set aside for committee meetings. By meeting in committees, the school board saved time and provided a means by which the entire board could simultaneously participate. ECONOMY Dr. W. A. Harris explains item of interest to Physical Education Committee: Mrs. Grace Vandergrift and Mr. Joseph Bucka, and solicitor Mr. Peter Homnack. 29
