Representatives from A liquippa’s student body wish our basketball team good luck in the play-off games. March-April Spring Months Highlighted By WPIAL Championship On March 4, the Ambridge High chapter of the Thespian Society presented a three act play entitled “The Rainmaker.” A short one act play, “The Sandbox,” was presented as a prelude. Mr. Donald Grundy directed both productions. On the 31st of March, the Yale Bulldogs battled it out with the Princeton Tigers in the annual girls basketball classic at Ambridge High School. Throughout the month of March, the student body cheered Ambridge High’s talented basketball team to victory at the Civic Arena and Field House. Due to the good performance of the basketball team in the WPIAL playoffs, there were many extra pep assemblies scheduled for the student’s enjoyment. On April 7, many proud parents watched their sons and daughters being initiated into the National Honor Society. Mr. Tolfa produced the Twenty-fourth Annual Spring Band Concert on April 21. Joe Boyt, as the Rainmaker, instills into Betty Garlic, portraying Lizzie, his ability to make it rain. Seniors honor the tradition of standing at the. pep assemblies to cheer the team on and show enthusiasm. 23

Following their long years of scholastic achievement, the 1967 graduates received their diplomas on May 31. May-June Mixed Emotions Fill Halls As 1967 School Year Ends Joy and sorrow filled the halls at AHS in the final months of the school year. Many seniors were glad their high school years had ended, while others were sorry to see it come. May was a busy month for all the students. Juniors got their class rings, seniors received awards and scholarships, and everyone studied for final exams. The annual Awards Assembly bestowed recognition on the students for their services and achievements during the year. May 12 marked the exciting event of the Junior-Senior Prom with “Cinderella” as its theme. On May 31, seniors received their diplomas in the football stadium. During the first week of June, underclassmen handed in their books and awaited for June 2, the final day of the school year. As students talk to their friends during lunch periods, disgusted classmates must wait to use the telephones. 25
