At Ellwood City basketball game, Ambridge High School televised the first closed circuit game in Pennsylvania. Coach Chuck DeVenzio addresses a joyous student body following the winning of the WP1AL crown. Quarterback Queen Lorrie DeMarco is crowned by County Commissioner Ross as Mr. Osso looks on.

Representatives from A liquippa’s student body wish our basketball team good luck in the play-off games. March-April Spring Months Highlighted By WPIAL Championship On March 4, the Ambridge High chapter of the Thespian Society presented a three act play entitled “The Rainmaker.” A short one act play, “The Sandbox,” was presented as a prelude. Mr. Donald Grundy directed both productions. On the 31st of March, the Yale Bulldogs battled it out with the Princeton Tigers in the annual girls basketball classic at Ambridge High School. Throughout the month of March, the student body cheered Ambridge High’s talented basketball team to victory at the Civic Arena and Field House. Due to the good performance of the basketball team in the WPIAL playoffs, there were many extra pep assemblies scheduled for the student’s enjoyment. On April 7, many proud parents watched their sons and daughters being initiated into the National Honor Society. Mr. Tolfa produced the Twenty-fourth Annual Spring Band Concert on April 21. Joe Boyt, as the Rainmaker, instills into Betty Garlic, portraying Lizzie, his ability to make it rain. Seniors honor the tradition of standing at the. pep assemblies to cheer the team on and show enthusiasm. 23
