OUR FALL POW WOW On September the l4th we opened the football season IN our new stadium wlth Monaca As the tnme for the kickoff drew nearer and neared the stadium began to full wnth people anxious to cheer the teams on to victory and just as anxuous to see the new stadium with all nts lnghts on As the powerful llghts transformed the fneld unto bnlluant day light the band began to play the Star Spangled Banner and the fans stood at attention whale of the field After the knckoff the fans con centratnng on the game cheered as the teams moved up and down the field passnng puntnng blocking and runnnng both strlvlng for vlc tory Due to the fune teamwork and excellent coachnng our team walked off the fneld that nnght wnth a score of 21 to O to their credit 24 the American flag was raised at the north end

COMMENCEMENT The Commencement of the class ot 42 was highlighted by a speech by Doc- tor Smith, The Doctor told the class that he was firmly convinced that we have rendered a greater service to our country by remaining in school than we could have rendered in any other way. He went on to describe the abnormal times the Seniors were graduating in and wished them all luck in their careers Dr J R Miller in accepting the class congratulated the graduates on its suc cess and achievements Dr Miller men tioned that the graduates were just the same group that entered first grade the year he came to Ambridge. Dr. James Direnzo in brief but im- portant remarks lauded the class for its work and introduced the members of the Board of Education. Dr. Direnzo, assisted by Miss Katherine Forcey, Mr. William Bining, Mr. Leonard Horseman, Miss Rosemary Crime, and Miss Avis Cauley presented the diplomas to the 298 graduates Rev Dr Richard B Cuthbert and Rev Leo Krauss otticiated over the religious ceremonies :95'gN 25
