This victory they are working for does not mean just an immediate victory of our armies but of a victory which will enable all people to live pleasantly in a peaceful world. To further this objective courses have been placed in the school system which will not only enable our boys and girls to enter the armed services better prepared but will equip them with the essentials which we think will be necessary to work efficiently in the post-war peri- od. High school students are given courses which provide culture ability to use leisure time in a worthwhile manner improve health and fit them for worthwhile positions. OUR ADMINISTRATORS DRNASM Superintendent N A Smith received his elementary and high school education in the schools of Monroe County Ohio and his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio University He obtained his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees at the University of Pittsburgh Dr. Smith served a year in the Medical Department with the American Expedi- tionary Forces in France. From l92O to l942 he was principal of the Ambridge Senior High School He assumed his du ties as superintendent on July 6 i942 The superintendent is an advocate of the democratic and cooperative type of school administration and firmly believes that the entire school system should be a democratic laboratory in which students and teachers work efficiently and happily together. He believes that the education- al program should be geared not only with the present war effort but also with the peace which will follow.
