Sandielands two honor societies, the Ken Club, composed of all students with an average of 90 points or better, and the National Honor Society. Composed of members selected hy a faculty committee, found that the reduced numlmer of students at Sandieland did not cut from their ranks. With the stress on Science and Mathematics with the space age, students were prone to spend as much or more time with their lioolxs for a hetter scholastic average in l958-59. The Ken Club was sponsored by Mrs. Margaret Jos- serand during the 1958-59 school year. Miss Louise Russell and Miss Marie Donnell sponsored the National Honor Society. The Honor Society took a percentage of the senior class into lI14'lIllJl'l'SllllJ in the fall and initiated them in January.
