' 1 V U il .3 li ., X iii it L X x,., N .1 its YJ fi llt X . 4 Ng .J r . 'X tx X A.-X XJ Students and Faculty of A. H. S. ' y Greetings: a s The year 1943-44 has doubless made an indelible impression upon the minds of A. i'-l. S. students and teachers. Space forbids the enumeration of events transpiring, accomplishments attained andrambitions realized. As your fingers leisurely weave their way through this book, let their touches bring recollections at the life you found best in A. H. S. Return to these pages often to recall the sterling worth of friendships established. Remember the pleasure of the struggle and strife of high school lite. Above all, remember the spirit of this year. We never knew defeat until it was upon us, and then we never knew chagrin. This marked feeling of loyalty, which flaws through our student body, which pulses through our halls is perpetual, bringing a greater loyalty to our state and our country. This is the greatest contribution by A. H. S. to the lifeblood at the nation. V l it is with mingled feelings at icy and gladness that we arrive at this stage of the year's work. Especially is this true now, for many at our boys are entering the armed services of their country. Their duties will take them to the far reaches of the arth. Most of them will return, some in the glory of acclaimed heroes, some broken d unsung, and yet others, according to the fortunes ol war, will return onlylin the memories of those who knew and loved them. This feeling of sadness is in part balanced by the happier satisfaction that their sacrifices may bring peace, iustice, and good will to the peoples of the earth. V . May we hope for each and everyone of you the lullest measure of success. We hope that each of you will receive the greatest possible returns on the investments you have made in your school lite. May God's blessings go with you. Sincerely, A X fy ff' t ,Z , st lRQ, l Principal.
