School Life Exposed 1. I've been working on a television documentary for WYRD Productions that's going to show what life in a typi- cal American high school is all about. Posing as a mildmannered school li- brarian, I've been able to go anywhere without arousing suspicion. I've gotten some great shots everything from the high lights down at the hole, to the watering of 'B' Building on closing- of-school day, 1978. My favorite se- quence is the daily stampede for that first bus at the end of the day, espe- cially played in slow motion! This could well become a video classic, so I hope you get a chance to view it when it airs in Iuneg if not, there'll be re-runs every September. Margaret Kavanagh Librarian and Early United States History. 2. Everything is great! Sandy Glenn Librarian Aide. 3. Al Van Velzen Counselor and Skills Laboratory. 4. I especially appreciate teachers who do not despair of their despairing students. Thus, I shall not soon forget the student-teacher conference which ended with the teacher quoting a coach who had just set a record for themost losing games: If you're content with what you have done, you'll never do - the best you can. Ninette Griffin Counselor and Skills Laboratory. 1. . I. 5. Terry Peterson Wood tl! Advancedj and Voca- tional Fine Arts: foreign exchange teacher in Scotland. 1 W 'k 6..I am amazed by the fact that dif- ferent situations can change one's in- teraction with other people. As a teacher with big classes, students blend together except for the few at each end of the good-bad spectrum. Then, in a driver training car with two or three students, they appear as individuals. Each has his or her strengths, in- securities, and intriguing personality traits. There is time to talk, discuss, laugh, share tense moments fto turn or not to turn, that is the questionlj, and learn from one another.
