Alwood High School Woodhull, IllinoistfjfjljfK lfoif!
The members of the 1977 yearbook staff feel that we have produced a fine and much improved book this year. We have expanded the book by 12 pages, increased our use of graphic arts, done more of our own photography, and put a full color picture on the cover. Each of these changes has cost money, however, and we would not have been able to do them without the generous contributions of the patrons listed below. We would like to thank each of the contributors very sincerely.

Why should we be in such desperate haste to succeed and in such desperate enterprises?
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away.

Co-Ed Sports took on a new look this year by the additional participation of boys. Formerly known as G. A. A. and A.G.A., the program was set up this year in compliance with Title 9 requirements.
The program was set up with three basic activities which were softball, volleyball and Anything Goes competition . Special activities such as roller skating, bowling and swimming were planned. The Junior High Football squad held two intrasquad scrimmage games this fall. In the first game, the White team came from behind in the last 50 seconds to defeat the Green team 12-8. In the second quarter, Kent Nelson passed 25 yards to Mark Carlson to give the White a 6-0 lead.
The conversion failed. With less than a minute to go in the game,
Todd Peden ran 30 yards for a TD and Bret Robinson ran in for the 2 point conversion to give Green an 8-6 lead. With time running out,
Kent Nelson hit Dave Schatteman with a 35 yard TD pass to give the White team an exciting 12-8 win.
In the second game on October 8, the White team won again by a score of 12-6. Rick Edmund scored both TD's for the White, one on a 30 yard run and the other on a 30 yard screen pass from Kent Nelson. Todd Peden scored for the Green on a 70 yard run.
