SENIOR CLASS
ALWOOD HIGH SCHOOL Woodhull, Illinois
The world owes you nothing, you owe it your all.
Stand proud if you're short, and straight if you're tall.
Keep your eyes open and look for the sun,
For when you find it, your day has begun.
Shrewdness and boldness are two of a kind All who are winning make use of the mind.
Don’t be content with what you don't know.
To grow is to learn, and to learn is to grow.
Jill Allison

291 969 CLASS PROPHECY
The year is 1984, fifteen years have passed since the 1969 graduating class of AlWood has left the cherished halls of its old Alma Mater. Invitations have been extended to all the members of this class to return to Woodhull for their fifteenth year class reunion. We have received several responses, from class members, telling what they have been up to these last fifteen years.
DEBBIE ALLISON sends word that she now owns her own loan company, Loan with a Smile. It is reported that John Briggs borrows more from her than anyone else.
GREG ANDERSON has been doing remarkably well in the dairy business. His leading product is Butterfat; he outsells all of his competitors.
JAMES BLOOMBERG, the famous archaeologist, sends word that he is now in Norway digging up something from the past. Jim adds that he certainly isn't in ruins!
PAULA BREDBURG and SHARON YOUNGREN have taken up positions as Head Sleepy Man and the Good Tooth Fairy. Poor little Sharon, however, acquired an injury when she tried to remove a tooth from Steve Nesbitt, who snapped her head off, as usual.
DAVID BREWER, after 15 years hard labor has become a success working at the Draught House where he has set up his own (Drink at your own risk) Brewery.
KENT BUBON has entered television. He has replaced the unforgettable actor Superman, alias Clark Kent. Unfortunately, he met with an accident last week when he tried to fly from a ten story building without his cape.
PEGGY CAMPBELL is still employed at her father's supermarket. She now heads the meat department.
BARB COWSER has finally succeeded in achieving her life's goal. She has found a shorter route from Woodhull to the Diner. She has dug an underground tunnel that runs from the backdoor of the Cowser home to the backdoor of the Diner. The one advantage of this tunnel is that it is cool in the summer and heated in the winter.
RANDY COWSER has finally accomplished, by accident, what he has been trying since childhood to do. He spent a million dollars in two hours on medical bills trying to recover from the drink he bought at David's Brewery.
JOE EIKER is now the head bouncer at the Diner. When asked about the pay, Joe replied, "It's not bad if you like coke!"
MARIAN GILLETTE has become Mr. Miller's current event advisor-she keeps him up-to-date. He's her current thing. This may go down in history.
ANNA GREEN sends word that she and her husband are in the process of moving to their newly purchased home, formally known as Jake's Place, in Ophiem.
DON HENRIKSON, now the star fullback of the Green Bay Packers is earning $500,000 a year. You always expect more from people with naturally curly hair.
VERNA HURSTROM has bought the skating rink and turned it into a go-go place. It's losing money because nobody go-go's there.
DAN JOHNSON: When Carlos was asked what he's been doing these last few years he said, "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil."
ROB JOHNSON who is still doing graduate work at Harvard, reports that he will complete his schooling in June. Then, asked what he intends to do after graduation, Rob said that he hopes Basil Jordan will be willing to take him on as an apprentice.
MIRIAM KLUNDT, who had such a beautiful singing voice in high school, is now with the Augustana Choir. She's the sweetest note they've got.
CHERYL KNUTSON who has always been fond of animals says she still is; her husband's a real bear. Nice but Grizzly. RICHARD LANGSTON told us that he might not be able to come to the reunion because the stork just visited his home last night. When asked whether it was a girl or a boy, Rich told us that they didn't know yet. He said they tied it to the frontporch and if it lays an egg it’s a girl.
MICHAEL LARSON and JERRY PRUETT have both made a career of the military service: they are both still Privates. When asked what they do during their Rest and Recreation they told us that that's their private business.
PAM LARSON and BOB EIKER still double date with Barb Cowser and Steve Stromquist. In fact Pam and Steve announced their engagement last week.
ANNAMARY McCLENNING danced her way to fame on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.
30BRET McFARLIN has set up a wild game service because he has always liked a wild life.
PATRICE McKEY who is the new pitcher for the Chicago Cubs did quite well last season. All the fans say she has tremendous curves.
MARCIA McLAUGHLIN has become a famous seamstress. She sews cloths for all occasions. Halloween is her busiest season. She says her work is kind of creepy that time of year.
CINDY MEDLEY wrote a book of short stories. When asked how it turned out. Cindy said she really got the short end of it.
VICKI MEIRHAEGHE has become an Avon Lady mainly because she likes to ring doorbells. Well, Ring my chimes! JERRY MERIDETH has a government job in the underground. He sweeps the floors of the New York City suburb.
DOUG MINDER, along with his brother, is in Hollywood. Doug is starring in "Return of the Fox" and his brother just recorded "Pop, goes the Weasel".
CHRIS NELSON, who is now cheerleader for the Green Bay Packers, recently caught a wild pass from the famous fullback, Don Henrikson. She always did like boys with curly hair.
BECKY NELSON is employed at Greg Anderson's Butterfat Dairy Company. Greg says that Becky is the cream of the crop.
RICK NELSON, when asked what he has been doing these last fifteen years, replied that he had been taking a body building course. Rick informs us that he is a Big Man.
STEVE NESBITT, who has always enjoyed the outer limits, is now a jet pilot. The Great Bird flies again!!!
TOM NORBURG is still employed as a carry-out boy at Anderson's Market, however, they are thinking of releasing him because he's all thumbs.
JEFF OLSON sends word that he will be unable to attend the reunion. After graduating he became chief of the New York City fire department. Like they say, fight fire with fire.
JOHN OWENS has finally made it to the top. He watches stars through his telescope from the top of the Empire State Building.
ELLEN OSTENSEN may be gone but she certainly isn't forgotten. We can see her anytime we go to the movies. You know how those foreign films go.
PAULETTE PETROVICH who was the first U.S. woman astronaut, after orbiting the moon was asked how she liked it. She replied "The ride wasn't bad, but I'm so dizzy."
VIRGINIA PLUNKETT sends word that she has been Fox hunting. Bret McFarlin's Wild Game Service advised her to look in Hollywood.
LINDA PRICE is taking time off from the filming of her latest movie "Lady Godiva" to come to the reunion. Linda informs us she got the part because of her hair. None doubted her word.
BRENDA VAN De WOSTINE is now the elevator operator at O.T. 's department store. It's hard to say whether her life has been much of a success or not because she's up and down so much.
TERESA REHN is a famous Olympic runner. This is no surprise because she always has liked to run around.
BOB RICE, after getting through college, is giving Mr. Clement lessons in the modern way of farming. In return Mr. Clement is giving Bob lessons in dancing.
KAREN SOTELO has become head trash collector of Woodhull because she likes Garbage so much.
CHRIS THOR' owns a factory that makes nylon stockings and knee-high socks. We asked Chris if we could ask her just one question and she said, "Just sock it to me."
RONALD AND RICHARD TIMBERLAKE are now employed as cowboys on the L.B.J. RANCH. They take care of the cows and pigs and chickens, but they say their boss gives them more bull than anything.
BOB TUCKER has recently released a volume of nursery rhymes. Have you heard of the most famous one, "Little Tommy Tucker?"
TERRY MYERS has gone down in history because he has wired his body and now runs on electricity; he's the first human being to do this. When we asked him how he gets going every morning, he said the girl in the apartmentt across the hall comes over and turns him on.
BILL MYERS is still working at MacDonald's.RENA VANTRUMP, is the new coach of the Harlem Globetrotters. She has taught them a lot of new tricks.
BARRY WILLETT, now the famous Dr. Willett, has recently performed a heart transplant on one of his patients. Newsmen asked Dr. Willett if the operation was a success and he told them, "The beat goes on."
MICHELLE WIRT, who always was fond of the out of doors, has been commissioned by Bret McFarlin's Wild Game Service to hunt beaver. Michelle shoots Bret two or three beavers a day.
CAROL ZOBRIST, has been teaching Commercial Arts at a high school in the cities. Strangely, she has three times as many boys in her classes as girls. In one typing class she has forty-two boys; they all say she is just their type of teacher.
We are sad to inform you that, due to circumstances beyond our control, the reunion will be postponed indefinitely. The plane that had thirty-two of the class members on it has been hijacked to Cuba. The hijacker has been named as Bob Taylor, alias the REB.
