State and National Responsibilites
The chapter here is working on the national membership committee. Mary Lou Charlson was the delegate to the State Leadership Conference.
Local activities included sponsoring sock hops, the Christmas dance, Sadie Hawkins dance, Daddy-Date Night, and making hospital tray favors .
At its annual Christmas Dance, sponsored jointly by F.H.A. and F.F.A., Kathryn Litton was elected the F.F.A. Sweetheart, and Bob Carlson was elected the F.H.A. Heartthrob. Kathryn was presented an F.F.A. jacket, and Bob received an apron and a cookbook in honor of the occasion.
Extending their influence far beyond our school has become commonplace for our F.H.A. Kathryn Litton is the 1961-1962 Section 10 Vice President. AlWood's F.F.A. sponsors many activities, one of which is the AlWood Calf Club. This is its story.
Borrowing from the Bank is a must for the first year calf-club member.
In the picture below are two freshman F.F.A. boys talking with Bank Cashier Kenneth Mecum, learning the experience of paying interest on borrowed money and that capital also costs money.
The calves were bought from a ranch in Southwestern Missouri and were shipped here for sorting into pens of four. The boys in the next picture are drawing lots to determine which pen of calves will be theirs to feed for the next eleven months.
F.F.A. OFFICERS Steve Johnson, President Paul Shepherd,
