Board Ut Education Board Wlembers ln the photograph above are shown the members of the Alvin Board ol Education: tSeated, left to rightl Frank A, Duke, Carlton Ely, I. E. Harriman tpresidentl, W. R. McDaniel, tstandingl Max Vogan tsecretary and tax assessor and collectorl, Dr. H. E. Merz, A. W. Brown, and George Duncan. The school board is composed oi some ot the most progressive of Alvin's citizens, men with vision, interested in the school and community. They have worked harmoniously and unseltishly for Alvin's tine schools. A forward- looking building program, pleasant conditions for learning and teaching, and plans tor a community college to open next year are evidences of the school board's line york. Mr. McDaniel, who is completing twenty-five years ol service on the board, has stated his intention to retire at the end ot his present term.
