The voting was by secret ballot and based on popularity alone. THE KITE EIHIEIEFEHIHIWIEIEIEIEIM KITE KALENIDAR 28-Mr. Wyrick's body was found last night and school is dismissed until 'toworrow morning, to pay respect to Mr. Wyrick. g 29-Freislhigegl are getting rather situated by now. Well, wonder what they think of 31-Assignment of session rooms. Play Bull-dogs tonight. FEBRUARY. 3-Bull-dogs defeated us. Senior meeting. Mr. Porter says if we don't want caps and gowns they won't try to force them on us. 4-Someone broke in school last night. 5-Rev. Carter spoke to assembly. Principal Porter announced that the school board had promised to buy 100 desks for assembly study hall. 6-No school Friday-Boys' and girls' glee clubs sang for the teachers at 9:45 Friday morning. 10-All students called into the office to correct schedules. Seniors were asked their opinion of having caps and gowns. 12-Mr. Elba Branigan gave an interesting account of Abraham Lincoln's.life. 14-Valentine day. Oh me! All hearts are being given away. 17-Boys came back from Bedford with victory 16-14. 18-Some group pictures taken today. It's just like spring out. ,. 19-Yinger singers entertained the assembly and the well' in which the Old Oaken Bucket hung caused quite a bit of merriment. More group pictures and initiation of freshmen. . 20-Seniors trying to decide on pictures. One can't decide which picture to have put in. 'Tis hard sometimes from the choice you have. 21-It's turned so warm everyone has the spring fever. We hope it doesn't affect our boys in the Connersville-Franklin game tonight. 24-Triumphant over Rushville 'and Connersville. Headed for tourney. 26--State tourney tickets on sale. Hi-Y boys gave a very clever and original program Will wonders never cease-Robert Fuzzy Vandivier gave atalk startling the entire school. First team and second team were presented with sweaters. Slip on sweaters and ones they can be proud of. MARCH. 3-Won the Sectional and have a chance at the Regional. Prof. Campbell talked before the assembly. 4-Seniors lamenting the fact that they saw the team play in the gym for the last time while they're in High School. 5-Prof. Beriault read Merchant of Venice to the assembly. 6-Plenty of exams. Tourney Saturday so that's one thing to look forward to. 7-Pep session. Sent the Fight, Fight, Fight ringing through the halls of Alva Neal. 10-Yip-yip-yipee! ! ! Did we win or no? And how! Out for the morning. On to the state Franklin! Hopes are high and if you could have seen our boys Saturday night, mv but they really played. Some celebration taking in the college, Masonic Home, Kittie Palmer, Payne, and Booker T. Washington schools. The excitement now of going to the state. 12-Assignments of sections in assembly rooms by classes. At last Seniors get their wish-the old tradition of letting Seniors pass first. 17-Well, we lost our second game by 2 points. The boys have several banquets and entertainments planned for this week. We are still proud of them. 19-Sidebottom, a preacher, gave an interesting talk on prehistoric man and also gave a demonstration of an Indian dance. Each member of the team stood up and we gave a yell for them. Fuzzy, Deadweight, 2nd team, Moore, Porter and Campbell. 20-Popularity vote-1 Junior boy and girl and 1 Senior -boy and girl. 21-Sunshine meeting-initiation being planned. ' , 28-Primary instrumental band from North School entertained the assembly with their variety of instruments. Mrs. Rose Meredith is the supervisor of this band. At last the Freshies get their initiation, the kids did look so peculiar all dressed up and no place to go. They were introduced one by one by Hoot Gibson and then all sang' the high school song. Sunshine party this afternoon. Danced, had stunts, and foo . . APRIL 1-April Fools Day. 2-Annual goes to press and no foolin' ! ! ! ' 1930
